Fun Day – 6th July

On Saturday 6th July we had our annual Fun Day. This was a fantastic fun-filled day with bouncy castles, face painting, games, a bbq and much more! It was a very enjoyable day and it was lovely to see so many people there.

Science Dome

The children thoroughly enjoyed the ScienceDome visit in which every class had the opportunity to explore ‘Space and Beyond’ and ‘The Solar System’.

We were lucky enough to have a speaker from The Royal Observatory, Greenwich, who talked us through some amazing images of space while we sat inside a giant inflatable dome.

Eid Celebration – Friday 7th June

On Friday 7th June, the children and parents of Walnut Tree Walk enjoyed an Eid party after school.

This was a wonderful afternoon, enjoyed by the whole school community.

A big thank you to the parents who organised this and provided the delicious food. This is going to be an annual event now at Walnut Tree Walk!

Lambeth Music Festival – Thursday 21st March

On Thursday 21st March, the school choir took part in the Lambeth Sounds Music Festival at the Royal Festival Hall on the Southbank, in front of an audience of hundreds!

The children were amazing and did us proud! The concert featured 32 choirs from Lambeth Primary schools accompanied by the Lambeth Music Service tutor band and Royal Festival Hall organ scholar.

The Festival, as a celebration of a musical community, is a highly significant experience for young musicians of all ages.

The impact on music making in the borough resounds long after the concert days of the festival have finished, and we know that our pupils will have fond memories of performing at this unique event.

Science Day – Wednesday 13th March

On Wednesday 13th March we had a Science Focus Day. Amongst many science activities, the children across the school had workshops from a visiting scientist, which they really enjoyed.

World Book Day – Thursday 7th March

Thursday 7th March was World Book Day, and we had lots of things going on in school.

The children enjoyed reading with children from other classes, we had a great puppet workshop in Years 1 and 2, and there were lots of activities in class linked to reading and their favourite books.

We had some wonderful costumes on the day – some of which can be seen below.
